About Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park lies in Kenya's Great Rift Valley and protects a compact but remarkably diverse landscape of alkaline lake shore, acacia woodland, grassland and rocky escarpments. Its manageable size makes it excellent for rewarding game drives.
The park is especially important for rhino conservation and offers good opportunities to see both black and white rhinos. It is also known for Rothschild's giraffes, buffalo, lions, leopards, waterbuck and a wide variety of resident and migratory birds.
Lake Nakuru combines naturally with Lake Naivasha, the Masai Mara and Nairobi, making it an ideal stop on a classic Rift Valley safari itinerary.
