About Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo West National Park forms part of Kenya's vast Tsavo ecosystem and is known for its rugged volcanic scenery, rolling hills, lava flows, natural springs and varied habitats. The landscape is greener and more broken than Tsavo East, creating a different safari character.
One of the park's best-known attractions is Mzima Springs, where clear groundwater emerges from the surrounding lava landscape. Tsavo West also supports elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and abundant birdlife.
Tsavo West is ideal for travellers starting from Mombasa, Diani or Nairobi and combines naturally with Tsavo East, Amboseli, Taita Hills and Salt Lick on southern Kenya safari circuits.
